Years ago, a dictator reigned
He silenced the people with power
He got them slain, oppressed, and chained
Darkness and suppression took over

Then twenty-seven years ago
The people rose on this same day
To rally for their rights and to pray
That this night would end and just go

Filipinos stood tall and might
No violence, without any gun
They prayed, stayed, without any fight
Up until the battle was won

We people are like tiny ants
Wandering around, exploring
Living to get food in our hands,
To get by everyday, struggling

But ants are mere specks on a tree
Not knowing how big the world could be
They’re like us, clueless of how vast
This world is, getting us aghast

Some even turn into standards
There are types, there are different forms
Some they push forward, some backward

But let us not be limited
